Cal-Ore Life Flight & Humboldt County Ambulance Services Make Accord
(September 2005)

Cal-Ore Life Flight, which serves Humboldt, Del Norte & Curry Counties with air ambulance service, has reached a partnership agreement with City Ambulance of Eureka, and Arcata-Mad River Ambulance for its participants in its membership program.

Both City and Arcata services have agreed to accept Cal-Ore's air ambulance membership participant's insurance, as payment in full. This benefit applies to the ground ambulance transports from local hospitals to local airports, which then connect to Cal-Ore's aircraft and transport medical teams.

According to Cal-Ore President, Dan Brattain, "We are extremely pleased that two of Humboldt County's largest ambulance services have agreed to this great benefit for our members." City and Arcata Ambulance join several other services that offer similar benefits to Cal-Ore's members. Other participants include ambulance services in, San Francisco, Yreka, Crescent City, Brookings, Gold Beach, Portland, Hillsboro, Coos Bay, Roseburg, and Port Orford. Brattain also pointed out that this new agreement is "exclusive to Cal-Ore members", and, "puts us one step closer to having a full-time dedicated aircraft base in Humboldt County".

Local Cal-Ore membership coordinator, Sherri Dragonetti said, "Our goal is to substantially grow our Humboldt County membership base in the next 2-3 years. We can only do this by continuing to provide the safest and most efficient air ambulance service possible to local Humboldt County patients." Dragonetti also pointed out that a Cal-Ore membership could save a patient, "over $1,000 in air & ground transport costs."

Cal-Ore aircraft and medical crews will be on display at the Eureka Murray, "Airfest 2005", on Saturday, September 10th.
