Cal-Ore Adds Fourth Aircraft
(January 2005)

Cal-Ore Life Flight recently announced the acquisition of their fourth aircraft, along with receiving FAA approval to use the aircraft in their commercial air ambulance operations. The aircraft, a Piper Cheyenne II jet-prop, is the third jet-prop in Cal-Ore's fleet and the fourth twin-engine pressurized airplane operated by the air and ground ambulance company.

Cal-Ore's President, Dan Brattain, said that the all-weather, 300 mile per hour (MPH) aircraft will greatly assist their growing operations and provide the communities served with more efficient service. "The jet-prop aircraft are a much faster and more comfortable form of transportation for our air ambulance patients", Brattain said.

Cal-Ore's Chief Pilot, Bob Walker, a 35 year flying veteran said that from a pilot's perspective, the jet-props acquired over the last couple of years have really improved the overall service. Walker noted that, "with the inclement weather we experience on the coast, our jet-props can climb quickly to higher and less turbulent altitudes making it a better flight for both the patient and crews."

Cal-Ore employs seven experienced pilots and over 25 medical flight team personnel to staff the aircraft 24 hours a day.
