Cal-Ore Life Flight Signs Mutual Aid Agreements
Curry Coastal Pilot - June, 2002

Cal-Ore Life Flight is pleased to announce that Mutual Aid Agreements were recently signed with the Cape Ferrelo and Gold Beach Fire Departments. These agreements allow each of the fire departments to assist with emergency medical calls within their own service area by rendering first aid until an ambulance crew arrives. This not only provides for better patient care, it also allows the volunteer fire fighters trained in emergency medical services to keep their skills in practice. By working hand in hand, the departments work together as a team, which in turn benefits patients and the community as a whole. Cal-Ore provides training to fire fighters in several areas including CPR, First Aid, and blood borne pathogens. There are several Cal-Ore employees who currently belong to local fire districts as well.

In addition to these recent mutual agreements, Cal-Ore also has agreements pending with both the Ophir and Pistol River Fire Departments. Upon completion of these two remaining agreements, Cal-Ore will have all mutual aid agreements in force within their Ambulance Service Area in Curry County.
